INSIDE:  The dogs have their own room which is 10x10 (1 of the 3 bedrooms), and they even have their own air conditioner (until my central air gets installed).  They sleep inside, and each has their own crate in which they sleep.  They also spend a lot of time inside when I'm home (if they want or the weather is bad).  Otherwise, when I'm home they have use of the whole yard (so I can watch them).  Or if I'm gone for several hours, they stay on their side of the yard (15x48) and have entry to the garage.

OUTSIDE:  My backyard is about 70x48, and the dog run area is 15x48 with a five-foot high chain link fence separating the two yard areas.  (If a tornado were to hit, I'm confident the only thing left standing would be the fence ... hahaha).   

Of course, since Takeia is a digger, her side of the yard looks like the surface of the moon.   Although, since I tilled it and evened it out, she hasn't been digging that much.  I think since they also play every morning for about an hour before I go to work, she's tired and has gotten rid of some of that energy. Dakari has definitely become the spoiled little boy and prefers to dig under their fence to get to my side of the yard, so they use the whole yard now for the most part (at least until I get my deck put in).
