TESTIMONIALS AND UPDATES:  ALADDIN LITTER

 UPDATE 8/5/10

                     *************************************************

3/30/10 - MY COMMENTS:  I have to say that I could not be happier with how this litter has turned out!!!! To say they are a healthy bunch is an understatement.  Dakari has a half-brother that everyone was blown away by at 10 weeks because he weighed 15 pounds ... the largest Tamaskan puppy to date.  But, by far, this litter exceeds anything born prior ...

At 8 1/2 weeks, when they left for their new homes, the boys were 17, 19 & 19 pounds, and Jasmine was 15.  They have been in their new homes now for 4 weeks (and they will only be 3 months on April 3rd), and this is the update:

JASMINE/NYA - 25 pounds

ALADDIN/SAKARI -  32 pounds

RAZOUL/TIMBER - 29 pounds

ABU/RILEY - 27 pounds

Also, since they left our home paper-trained, transitioning to house-training was much easier, and it's reported that they are all 'pretty much house-trained' and going potty outside.

All have had exceedingly positive feedback from their vets as well.  And, temperamentally, they are all in their right homes.  A success indeed!  I look forward to our future litters!

4/12/10   She definitely looks like Takeia, and is apparently acting like her, too, with her love of digging!  Her coloring has darkened considerably, especially along her back.  The only red remaining is on the back of her neck and on her upper legs, everything else has turned to grey.  Her tail has straightened out a lot, and she only slightly curls it up when she’s playing, not at all like the “C” she used to curl it into.  I haven’t noticed a change in her eye color.  Of course, that’s the most difficult to see change, since I have photos of her coat and tail changing, and eyes don’t photograph well.  They’re definitely not dark brown like Jazz’s are, but they aren’t gold, either.  The white tip on the tail has almost disappeared, just a teeny little patch of white on the very end, but I’d bet in another few weeks it’ll be all black.  She definitely has long toes (all the better to dig with!), and still long fox ears!  And she’s definitely loving life!  She’s such a great puppy!!!  Talk to you soon!

3/17/10 - Nya went to the vet today for her second round of vaccines, and everyone LOVED her!  I was bragging about you, Takeia, and Dakari to the vet, who was very impressed by everything I told her.  You got lots of brownie points in her book for having Nya microchipped, and we got to talk for awhile about the breed, since she couldn’t get over how unlike a lot of the sled dogs she is in temperament, etc.  Nya handled the visit very well, even laying down on the table while she was being checked out.  Of course, she loved all the attention she got!  We went for a walk in the park before heading home, so she’s zonked!  I’m loving this warm weather!!!  By the way, she’s 20 lbs!  Talk to you soon!

3/29/10 - Hi Kim, Well Timber got his second round of shots today and his stool tested. Everything came back negative ... he is still full of energy and has a healthy appetite. He weighed 28lbs on Saturday, still very lean and still carries his tail high and over his back but straight when hes not excited. Eyes havent changed much in the last week or so, still a light brown/gold. .. He was a big hit at the vet, all the doctors were googling the breed when I arrived. My dr asked what his diet was like and I saw raw and he responded "you are your mothers son arent you!" we've been feeding raw as a family for over 10 years. The vet said looks like you got a healthy pup here! Everyone said they cant wait to see him grow up.  I go back in 3 weeks for his final rounds of shots. .. Hes pretty much fully potty trained, he hasnt had an accident in the house in about a week so thats exciting. .. He loves people and other animals! He went to a BBQ with my yesterday and they had two boxers, they ran around together for hours! .. So thats about it for now, Ill send a couple pics to show you his tail and eye color. Thanks, hope you're doing well!

3/20/10 - Hey Kim, weighed Timber yesterday and he's 25lbs! Hes getting so big it makes me sad I want him to stay little as long as possible. ..  His mask is starting to come in nicely and the white stripe seems to be fading every day!  … His coat is coming in so nicely, I get all kinds of compliments on how beautiful his coat is! He’s also staying very lean which is nice.  I dont know how he does it because he eats like a horse! … He is still very mellow but definitely likes to play … Hes also not very destructive at all! he doesn't chew on furniture, molding, etc. Still hates the crate during the day, but will voluntarily go in at night and sleep for 6 or so hours. .. I couldnt be happier with him, hes been a great dog!

3/12/10 - timber weighed in today at 23 lbs

3/10/10 - Timber is definitely a hand full, I have no idea how you managed 4 of them! everyone loves him though, he also sleeps through the night in his crate without a wimper or accident. I dont need an alarm clock anymore though! He wakes me up at 610 on the dot (as soon as the sun rises) and we go for a twenty minute walk. He protests at first, but then quickly gets in the swing of things. I think hes still having a hard time recognizing the pack leader. He actually walks really well, wont pull or drag too much. I think people are impressed that a 9 week old puppy is walking better than their older dogs. I make him sit before entering or leaving the house, he also has to lay down before I feed him and wait for me to give him the food.  I cant believe how quickly he picks up on commands. He know sit, shake and lay down really well. We're just now working on stay but he's picking up quickly. I dont want to overload him with too many commands so quickly.  He also doesnt bark at all! which is a good thing, If I leave the room or house he freaks out a little though and will bark which quickly turns into a howl. But if Im in the room with him he makes very little noise. Hes also using his sandbox regularly which is awesome since he needs to go quite a bit.   He had his first lamb bone yesterday and seemed to like it pretty well.  He also eats drum sticks and necks pretty good too.

4/14/10 - Hi Kim, Riley got his rabies shot today. He weighs 34.5 lbs (4/14/2010). Not much has changed with eyes/tail. He is getting taller, around 20.5" tall. His coat is changing, still piebald, but more spots are protruding. He is starting to go through his (Teenage years), Hope that goes by quick, lol. He is getting himself into a little trouble at home,  he is a great dog, we love this little guy so much. I will get some pics of him, but I need to give him his bath first, He took up rolling in the dirt with Izzy, lol. White and dirt do not go together, heeheehee. I will get an updated photo soon.

Height at Shoulders:

19.5"

Length from Breast bone to base of tail:  21.5"

Weight:

30.6 lbs

3/24/10 - Riley went to the vet today(3/24/10) for his next set of vaccines. He weighed in at 26.6 lbs.  We measured him at 18"H x 21"L. His eye color is still dark brown. He is starting to look gangly, those legs. lol. ... His tail carriage is in the downward state most of the time now, more like a German Shepard, and its length is just slightly below the hocks, but not touching the ground. His coat is taking on a cream and tan spotted mix in the white with a touch of black here and there. ... thanks, Shelly

3/20/10 - 16"H from shoulders, 19'L from breast to tail, Eyes are Brown, it looks like they are lightening up a little bit.  He is at 22 lbs.... Other than the car sickness, Riley has been doing great otherwise. no complaints. You have done a good job raising the pups. I have read what you wrote on your website about your experiences, but would love to learn more like the schedule you had, how much time per pup did you spend working with them. Things like that will help make me a good breeder too. I like what you have accomplished and can only hope I can do the same.
