PERSONAL STORY/ATTACHMENT
TO ANIMALS AND NATURE: Born in Bronx, NY on 3/3/70, my family
relocated to NJ when I was just six. We always had dogs when I was a kid, so my love for animals began early on.
I also enjoyed outdoor activities, and my family went camping with friends several times a year from the time I was 3 through
age 17. My parents bought a horse and pony when we moved to NJ, and I would ride with my father, and my older brother
(also my hero) with my mother. I was privileged to learn to ride at age six, and even competed in speed events with
my pony. It wasn't until I was 22 that I would have the experience with horses again. Since that time, I have
leased or owned a couple of horses. I was finally able to find my dream horse in July 2005 -- a black and white overo
paint gelding named Nacona ("Wanderer" in Native Sioux). Unfortunately, since I was unable to commit the time
he deserved, I rehomed him in June 2009 so that someone else could get the full enjoyment out of him that he deserves.
I remember always being drawn to nature and
its animals, especially wolves and horses. To this date, I maintain an innate affinity for and calling to Native American
life, nature and wolves. I remember watching shows like Grizzly Adams and Mountain Family Robinson when I was young,
and just wishing I could have that life and connection with the wild. Although growing up by the ocean, the call to
my heart was always the mountains and the west. I always knew I'd wind up eventually settling in a mountain area.
When I saw a picture of Colorado at the age of 22, I knew it would be where I wound up. So, in December 2003, at the
age of 33, I moved to Colorado, leaving my family and life behind. Since then, my parents have relocated to
Colorado to be near me, but my brother remains with his wife and her family back east. I really am living my dream ...
and I have the freedom to enjoy life as it should be enjoyed. My friends describe me as loyal and tenacious.
My interests are diverse and varied, and I find new ones all the time. I believe that life is a precious gift and worth
living. Life will also give you whatever you're willing to fight for, so I don't believe in settling.

my concealed weapons permit … for both the 4-legged and 2-legged attackers. <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

WHY
DID I GET INVOLVED WITH BREEDING: Becoming a dog breeder was never
an ambition or goal of mine. In fact, I can honestly say other than having a pet litter here and there from personal
pets while growing up, I never thought of breeding. But, as I stated, I am an avid wolf advocate. Having found
a wolf look-alike with a domestic dog temperament, I decided to become a part of the Aatu Tamaskan promotion through breeding.
It is my hope that in time there will be more demand for a wolf-look than an actual wolf or hybrid, thereby reducing the need
for sanctuaries and putting down of wolves and crosses. Any part I can play towards that end motivates me to continue
with educating others and helping in the continued improvement of the Aatu Tamaskan for all to enjoy. And, it is my
sincerest hope that as education and awareness of the breed continue to expand, people will opt for the wolf look in the Aatu
Tamaskan, leaving wolves in their natural habitat.
I'm excited about my new venture with the AatuTamaskan breed, and its future
in the US. I look forward to having "Ta-Kari" pups around, working with them, and finding the best homes
possible for them. I truly appreciate all I am privileged to have.
