GOTTA LAUGH!!!

YOU'VE GOTTA LAUGH...
updated 7/23/10

I thought I'd make this a place to hear some funny stories about what our dogs have done from time to time, and why they make me laugh so much.  And, who knows what other "funnies" we may add.  Laughing

Summer 2008 when we took our first camping trip, my parents came up for the day.  Several friends and we went into the woods to find an open area to do some target shooting (several of us carry or hunt).  Of course Takeia was with us.  We all got out, and those of us that were not shooting at the time walked about 200 yards away on top of a hill to be away from the shooting.  Takeia was sitting next to me.  As the first person took the first shot, Takeia came closer and rubbed up against my leg.  When the next shot was taken, she moved and sat behind me.  When the next shot was taken, she moved up closer to me.  When the next shot was taken, she started to try to climb up my back ... hahhaha!  If she could have made it all the way up to sit on my head, she would have.  She just wanted to get out of there!!

6/9/10 ---  FEEDING THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOX.

I raw feed and do most of my own butchering. So, there's always a nice variety for the "kids".  But there are times my two spoiled dogs don't exactly want what I give them for the day (and they eat better than most people!). So, sometimes their bones will sit. Well, for awhile I would go out in the morning and see bones gone that were there the night before.

I finally saw the culprit. As I thought it was, there's a little red fox that jumps the fence (6-foot stockade) and snatches up whatever my two brats don't want that day.

Well, at least it's a way to keep it in the species. I'm sure there's a little fox family somewhere that appreciates my butchering!Smile

7/23/10 - Ok, so just a couple of days ago, we had a DELUGE and my yard floods easily.  Of course, Takeia can't go potty when she's out for an hour or so.  She has to go when it is POURING.  So, for about 15 minutes, we tried ... go to the door, take 2 steps, rain hits face, she comes in.  As nature continued calling to her, I tried to coax her by standing in the garage with her.  Again, take 2 steps, rain hits face ... you get the picture.

I considered wading through my yard and said uh-uh!  So, I looked around and saw the raincoat.  YES, you got it ... I took the hat off the coat and tied it around her head.  Unfortunately, it kept flopping down on her faace and covering her eyes, so that wasn't 'working.  Then, BINGO.  I got a bandana and tied it so a triangle was over her face, shielding her eyes.  Low and behold... she went out.

I let her out, and came in to get the camera.  When I got back to the garage, she was not in her potty pen or even on her side of the yard.  My girl was STROLLING around like "haha! I'm not getting pelted with drops."

Enjoy the pics!
