Information on providing a raw diet (I will start puppies on a raw diet. If you decide to transition to a dry kibble or canned
food, I have mandatory feeding requirements regarding kibble in order to keep any health guarantee valid. Any
transition should happen over no less than a 2-week period.)
* Puppies will have undergone ENS exercises from Day 3-16, and
they will have been exposed to a variety of situations under the Puppy Rules of 7.
* Puppies will have been paper
trained and crate trained by the time they leave.
* I will also provide information on pet insurance. We can discuss this upon approving your purchase,
and I would be happy to pay for the first month's premium (value $20) so your policy can be active when you pick up your
puppy and coverage immediately in effect (as long as they allow coverage for pups that young). (I think PetPlan,
which is more of an illness/major medical insurance, is a great plan. I had VPI for Takeia's first year [about
$33 a month] and it did not cover all that I thought it would. I wound up paying more than expected between uncovered
expenses and insurance. PetPlan is a 'major medical' and emergent services, but your first years vaccinations should
not be much - $150 max depending on the vet. If something develops, PetPlan will cover it.) Fleas are not an issue
in Colorado due to the dry climate. So, you will need to talk to your vet as soon as you get home about and start your
puppy on preventive flea medication.
While I will have had all puppies checked
by my vet before leaving, it is strongly suggested that you have your new puppy checked by your vet within the first 24 hours.
I will be more than happy to provide local (Colorado Springs) vet information if you'd like to take the puppy to a local
vet while here before leaving for home.
If you travel to Colorado to pick up your puppy, you will
also receive:
* Collar and leash (value $10)
* Water & food dishes (value $10)
* 3-puppy pads to help with the potty training transition
