TAKING APPLICATIONS AND DEPOSITS FOR OUR NEXT LITTERS. RESERVE A PUP EARLY. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK FOR REFERENCES
AND CHECK OUT OUR 'VISITOR COMMENTS' PAGE
************************************************* APPLICATION PROCESS 11/4/11 --- Upon your initial inquiry,
I will send you my standard initial response, which includes the background of Ta-Kari and our involvement with the UK TDR
and US TBA. It will further include information regarding adoption fees. If you wish to pursue things further,
please respond and request an application. Upon receipt and review of your completed application, I will contact you
to set a time for a conference call to discuss things further, including expectations and an opportunity to answer any other
questions you may have. (If married, Husband and wife must BOTH be on the call; it is much easier that way.) After
our conference, I will take some time to make a determination as to placement. Please
note that just because you submit an application and/or we have a telephone conference does not guarantee acceptance or placement.
Proper placement is my first and foremost concern. This will be a lifetime relationship, and while some may feel my
'criteria' may be somewhat stringent, my pups will be placed in only the right homes. [I recently had someone
tell me that after just the first 2 steps (my response and completing an application), the process had become "just too
complicated and challenging". They didn't want a 'conversation' and wanted me to make a decision based
on their application. That only leads me to believe they had something to hide. Of more importance is that if
they felt the 'application' process was difficult and challenging, this is NOT the breed for them
and they are fooling themselves thinking that ANY breed (especially an Aussie) will not present challenges. So, if you want a puppy, no questions asked, please go elsewhere. There are other 'Tamaskan'
breeders that will gladly sell you a puppy with no questions asked. However, if you want the honest and accurate truth
about the background of your puppy (and other guarantees), and the comfort of knowing a breeder truly cares about the future
of their puppy, then please email me. Some may take offense, but there are plenty that will appreciate my stand and
concern for my pups and where they are placed.
FUTURE LITTER PLANS Please contact me immediately if you are interested in a Ta-Kari pup. Our first and second litters have been
sold, and there are some reservations on our next.
Proper
placement is of the utmost concern to me. While my contract does provide that a dog must be returned to me if at any
time the owner can no longer keep the animal, I prefer that people know what they are getting into (the good and bad) before
considering adoption to keep that to a minimum. However, there are times when circumstances must change and pets must
be rehomed. Adopters cannot do that arbitrarily and must contact me for return of the dog or approval to rehome elsewhere.
FIRST:
Please check your State's regulations and policies regarding wolfdogs. While the Aatu
Tamaskan is NOT a wolfdog or hybrid, they do LOOK like and can be confused for a wolf or wolfdog by those not familiar with
the breed. (That's why we encourage you introduce and educate your neighbors on the Aatu Tamaskan, especially in
case it gets out.) The last thing we want is ANY of our dogs to be confused for a wolf or hybrid, and have it captured
by a State agency, or worse. Therefore, we will NOT sell or provide any pup or dog to ANY state, municipality or county
hat has a ban on wolf hybrid ownership. For those that state there is no regulation over "hybrids",
placement can be made. Please see your State's requirements at http://www.wolfsongalaska.org/wolfdogs_State_Regulations.html. Also check with your county and/or city ordinances regarding possession of a wolf look-alike. [I will
be hesitant in placing any of our puppies in certain states due to the "wolf look-alike" ordinance, especially in
view of pending legislation issues.] Our first and second litters have already been sold. However, I will continue to take applications
for our next and subsequent litters. I have decided not to post an Application here and do it via email
or regular mail. I prefer the hands-on, one on one approach, and want to get to know future purchasers as best as possible,
rather than getting an anonymous application from someone who hasn't even taken the time to email me regarding their interest
or anything about their background. NOTE: To be honest, when I receive a one line email, I am not inclined to respond promptly,if at all, as it
indicates to me there is no passion or sincerity on that person's part in owing a Ta-Kari pup. I have put a lot
of time into creating the most informative site possible, including information on upcoming litters. So whether someone
is approved for a pup could very well go back to the initial communication. I hope you would put as much though into
an inquiry and telling me about yourself and why you have chosen this breed as I have. Additionally, placement of our
pups and communication is at the sole discretion of the breed. If you are in any way currently connected to or affiliated
with RPK in North Carolina or the TDR or NTCA, there will be no response and approval for a puppy is at an extreme minimum.
Further, excessive continued communication or perceived threats or harassment will be treated accordingly and presented to
the authorities. Adversarial, obscene or threatening behavior will not be tolerated in any form. I know the majority of you are sincere
and looking for guidance in choosing the right dog and right breeder, and I look forward to communicating with you.
For those that aren't, consider yourself warned.
